Capacity Planning - 4

So far we are looking into the ages of Industrial age which has to meet, supply demand of products. Later stage we have Modern Information Technology age.

 

Information Technology has variety of requirements throughout their hardware, software requirements. Whenever application or software got hit into the market, their capacity to be planned robustly. IT companies has capacity planning to have the measurability, scalability to cater their future requirements of forecasting. Also, savings on budget, to avoid the spendings on licenses, hardwares, products, software applications etc.,

Along with the PERT CPM, Gantt chart become more popular in this age it provided visually appealable planning of capacity. Many software provides the feasibility of finding the Critical path by locating the depending tasks, sub-tasks which will be helpful not only visualize the longest path also the critical path which total float 0 for the project.

 

 

Work Breakdown Structure

WBS is another tool while planning, explaining every tasks and making it in a box or an event/task you can mention it as Work Breakdown structure. You can go at any number of tasks and sub-tasks level with WBS. But recommended one for Work Breakdown structure is upto 3 levels.
